Hisui Chronicles is an unofficial fanzine exploring the Hisui region from Pokémon Legends: Arceus from the perspective of the Survey Corps members working hard to survey the land.This zine will contain field reports, Pokédex entries, and a record of all the friends and adventures across Hisui's varied landscapes. We will do this through showcasing art, writing, and merchandise of the characters, locations, and plots of the game.Whether the project is printed physically or released digital-only will depend on the results of our interest check.This project is SFW and E-rated! Canon-typical content and subject matter, such as battling and strife, is to be expected.

Q. What is a fan zine?A fan zine is an unofficial collaborative collection of artworks & writing, usually based on a theme, combined into a booklet.Q. Will this zine be physical or digital? Will there be merch?A physical print run of the zine will be determined by the interest check. Regardless, this zine will have digital merch at the very least.Q. Which characters are allowed in the zine?As our primary focus is on the videogame, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, any characters seen in-game are allowed.Q. Are ships allowed in the zine?No. We will not be including shipping content in this zine.Q. Who is allowed to apply as a contributor?Contributors who are 16+ at the time of application are welcome to apply! Small creators will be considered just as much as those with a large following. Applicants must follow the guides for submission.Q. Do I need a Discord account?Yes, Discord will be our primary form of communication. If you do not have an account, you will need to make one.Q. Can I apply for more than one role?You may apply for more than one role, but keep in mind you may not be accepted for multiple roles.Q. Are contributors allowed to collaborate?Yes! However, collaboration pieces between contributors are separate from their solo works and come secondary.Q. Can I submit an older piece for this zine?No. All work submitted to the zine must be previously unpublished and brand new.Q. What happens to zine pieces after the project ends?Contributors retain full ownership over their piece and retain the right to do as they wish with said piece after the zine concludes! We only ask that contributors not share or post their pieces until after the mods grant such permissions.Q. How will contributors be compensated?Contributors will be compensated with a full digital package at the very least. If we go physical, there are hopes we can compensate contributors with a physical zine copy or merch bundle.Q. Where will the zine’s profits go?This is to be determined by the interest check!

⭑ Applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application to apply. NO exceptions.⭑ Contributors must create an original piece for the zine.⭑ Contributors will retain full ownership over their pieces and retain the right to do as they wish with said pieces after the zine concludes! However, we ask that contributors not share or post their pieces until after the mods grant such permission. A breach of zine confidentiality will result in your immediate exclusion from the zine.⭑ Accepted contributors must join the zine's Discord server.⭑ All works submitted must be created by the applicant. Absolutely no plagiarism will be tolerated.⭑ DO NOT submit NSFW work in your application. This is a SFW zine.⭑ Any links submitted must be accessible to us. Please ensure that permissions are set to allow us to view & properly assess your application. If we cannot access your portfolio, we will be forced to consider your application null.⭑ While you may apply for more than one role, it is not guaranteed that you will be accepted for multiple positions.⭑ Mods will be judging applications solely based on skill and what is presented in the application. ⭑ Merch artists will be expected to create 2–3 designs, which could range from digital merch to physical merch
⭑ Please provide three samples of your best work in a style suitable for merch:↳ All samples must be completed. No WIPs
↳ Having samples of merch designs you've done (photos/mockups etc.) is strongly encouraged, but not required
↳ Having a sample featuring Pokémon is strongly encouraged, but not required
↳ Having a sample with a background is strongly encouraged, but not required⭑ Please provide a portfolio containing at least 5 other art pieces that showcase your style↳ Finished art pieces are preferred
↳ Please be sure to add trigger/content warnings where appropriate
↳ The three sample pieces can be included in your portfolio
↳ Please don't link to a personal merch shop for your portfolio

Writer Guidelines

⭑ Writers will be expected to write ONE self-contained story/poem/literary piece of 2,000 words or under
⭑ Please provide three samples of your best work:↳ At least two samples must be within a 1,000–2,000 word count
↳ The other may be an excerpt from a longer work
↳ At least one sample must feature Pokémon
↳ Having a sample set in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus world is strongly encouraged, but not required⭑ Please provide a portfolio containing at least 5 other writing pieces that showcase your style↳ Finished/self-contained works are preferred
